Mission

The Cross Collective Project focuses on a variety of artwork from past and current Connecticut College students across many mediums. The project aims to give a platform to artists in a collective space, and it’s not limited to art majors and minors. The goal is to represent a variety of mediums from the campus community in addition to the work the art majors and minor have done throughout their college careers. The goal of this website is to bring the college community and the art community closer to the artist’s process. The goal is to also represent the many student artist who may not have a platform or give them an additional platform for their work to reach a broader audience.

However, not every artist has artwork on their page. By including their name and/or their artist statement for the student anyway, it acknowledges their contribution to the art department and art community on Connecticut College. With time this page will grow to have many more students eager to share their art with the campus community.

Lisamarie Rojas ’19 created this website as a capstone project for the 2018-2019 Museum Studies Certificate class. A special thank you is given to the many students who volunteered their work to be immortalized on the Cross Collective Project. A special thank you is also given to Professor Karen Gonzalez Rice, Hallie Selinger ’16, and Lyndsy Bratton for being part of every step necessary to make this website possible.

Sophomore and Junior art minors are currently not being recorded.
